“Kelly is a dream client," said the designer, who also dressed the singer for the Golden Globes.

For the 60th annual Grammy Awards tonight, vocal superstar Kelly Clarkson will wear a custom black and gold gown with embroidered fringe from designer and superfan Christian Siriano.

“When Kelly’s stylist, Candice Lambert, sends me a text that says, ‘I need a dress for Kelly,’ the answer is always yes, no matter what we have going on in the studio,” says the designer.

“After making her Golden Globes gown, we immediately started on Grammy options for her,” Siriano says. “I think what we decided on tonight is cool — rock 'n' roll — but also still elegant and chic. Her album theme is black and gold, so we decided to play off of that.”

From the designer’s view, it’s an ideal collaboration.

“Kelly is a dream client. She takes my advice, appreciates all of the hard work we put into each dress, and is excited each time to try something new,” he says. “It’s probably the seventh or eighth gown we have created for Kelly and I can’t wait to do more. I love her music, her spirit and, of course, that incredible voice!”
