Raines' wife pleaded not guilty on Wednesday, and if convicted, she could face a maximum sentence of four years in prison.

The wife of KABC meteorologist Dallas Raines, Danielle, has been charged with assaulting the couple's daughter.

According to the L.A. County District Attorney's Office, Danielle is charged with one felony count of assault, allegedly having beaten her 25-year-old daughter as she drove Danielle home from a country club on Aug. 31.

Danielle pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury. She is scheduled to return for a hearing on Oct. 24 at the Pasadena Courthouse.

According to court documents, she was allegedly drinking wine with her daughter at the country club when she pushed her daughter before she drove her home. While in the car later, Danielle allegedly assaulted her daughter. When her daughter pulled over, Danielle attempted to strangle her daughter before she managed to escape, according to Deputy District Attorney Jodi Taksar.

Danielle posted $30,000 bail that day.

If convicted, Danielle could face a maximum sentence of four years in prison.

The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
