Will Gluck makes the grade

His fourth project with Screen Gems is 'Easy A'

The work keeps piling up for Will Gluck at Screen Gems.

Gluck is set to helm his fourth project with Sony's genre label: high school comedy "Easy A." Gluck will also polish the spec by New York playwright Bert V. Royal, and will produce along with Zanne Divine ("Mardi Gras").

"Easy" is a modern comedic retelling of "The Scarlet Letter," told from the point-of-view of an 18-year-old girl.

Gluck recently wrapped the high school comedy, "Fired Up," for Screen Gems, which marked his feature directing debut and is set for a March release. The film is about two high school football players who bow out of the season to attend cheerleading camp in an elaborate scheme to score women.

"This is the sharpest, smartest and funniest script I have read in a long time," Gluck said. "Making it even more attractive is that its with the same studio that I just had an amazing creative experience with on 'Fired Up.'"

Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper and vp of production Scott Strauss will oversee the project for the studio.

The ICM-repped Gluck has also been busy on the TV side. He recently lined up a couple of half-hour projects to write and produce at Fox and ABC.
