Will Smith to Host Nat Geo Miniseries From Darren Aronofsky
The 10-part 'One Strange Rock,' set to premiere globally in March 2018, will take viewers on an epic visual journey around the world and into outer space.
Will Smith will host National Geographic's upcoming global event series One Strange Rock from Darren Aronofsky and producer Jane Root. Smith made the official announcement on his Facebook page with a short teaser video Tuesday morning.
One Strange Rock is a 10-episode series that will take viewers on an epic and cinematic journey around Earth and into outer space. The miniseries will feature input from astronauts, scientists and others who have a unique insight into our planet and its place in the universe.
“I am thrilled to have Will Smith on board to guide our series. His charisma, intelligence and humanity will add greatly to the project, helping welcome viewers into this unique narrative about the mind-blowing wonders that make life on Earth possible,” Aronofsky said in a statement.
The show will premiere globally on Nat Geo in March 2018 in 172 countries and in 43 languages. One Strange Rock is produced by Nutopia and Aronofsky's Protozoa Pictures.
