“Looking back is not a good idea when you’re this age,” he says. “Looking forward is a better idea.”

William Shatner turns 80 years old today.

Throughout his 60-year career, the author-actor-singer has appeared in the '80s cop show T.J. Hooker, ABC’s The Practice, and, currently, the CBS comedy $#*! My Dad Says.
But his most recognizable role is as Star Trek’s Captain James Tiberius Kirk.
In light of his milestone Tuesday, online interest in Shatner is up more than 96 percent, reports Yahoo. Related lookups for "william shatner biography" and "william shatner novels"   and "william shatner songs" have also increased.
In an interview with the Vancouver Sun, Shatner says, “Looking back is not a good idea when you’re this age. Looking forward is a better idea, because you can be blinded by the sun looking forward.”
