Wolf cops PGA achievement award

Veteran producer Dick Wolf will receive the PGA's 2008 Norman Lear Achievement in Television Award.

Wolf, best known for creating the long-running TV franchise "Law & Order," will be feted at the 19th annual PGA Awards, set for Feb. 2 at the Beverly Hilton.

"Dick Wolf has an incredible track record of successful, quality television product and has been the pre-eminent producer in the field for the last decade," PGA Awards co-chairs Mark Gordon and Hawk Koch said. "He is richly deserving of this honor."

Wolf has produced and written for such series as "Hill Street Blues," "Miami Vice" and "New York Undercover."

This year, Wolf won an Emmy as executive producer of HBO's telefilm "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee." His TV career spans more than 25 years.

Jerry Bruckheimer received the Norman Lear award last year.
