Wolfe at door for Cookie Jar

TORONTO -- Canadian animation producer Cookie Jar Entertainment on Thursday named Melissa Wolfe as its Los Angeles-based director of development.

Wolfe comes to Cookie Jar from Frederator Studios, the independent animation house aligned with Nickelodeon. Before that, she produced the 2005 and 2006 Nicktoons Network Animation Festival.

Wolfe will report to Ann Austen, senior vp of development and U.S. TV/video sales, who came to Cookie Jar in February after developing animated series for Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and the N.

"Melissa is an industry leader at the forefront of cutting edge animation and digital media who will play a major role in the development department as Cookie Jar's slate of properties continues to grow," Austen said in a statement.

Cookie Jar is best known for its "The Doodlebops," "Johnny Test" and "Caillou" series.
