Wolfram Winter tapped for Sky Deutschland

Named new senior vp distribution development at Sky

COLOGNE, Germany -- German pay TV veteran Wolfram Winter has been named the new senior vp of distribution development at News Corp-controlled platform Sky Deutschland.

In his new job Winter will oversee the development of distribution and carriage deals with both German cable companies and partners in Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg.

Few can match the breath and depth of Winter's experience in the German pay TV market. Currently head of pay satellite service Premiere Sky, the 45-year-old exec ran NBC Universal's bouquet of pay and free-TV channels in German-speaking Europe for eight years. Before that, he was head of programming for DF1, a precursor to Premiere, which was rebranded Sky earlier this month.
