'Woman' gets Norway's Oscar vote

Norwegian helmer Petter Naess, an Oscar nominee for 2002's "Elling," has been tapped to represent Norway in the foreign-language Oscar race once again, this time with his film "Gone with the Woman."

Starring Trond Fausa Aurvag and Marian Saastad Ottesen, "Woman" is an adaption of Erlend Loe's 1993 debut novel. It follows a young man who learns about love for the first time after a talkative young woman moves into his apartment and begins taking over his life.

The film, released in its home territory Friday by SF Norge, also is unspooling at the ongoing Toronto International Film Festival. The screening will be attended by Naess, the film's Peter Stormare and producer Olav Øen.
