TV programs with medical themes get so many details wrong that a leading Italian medical group has said Italy's broadcasters should refrain from airing them. According to Annalisa Silvestro, president of the National Federation of Medical Colleges, offending programs include such imported fare as "ER" and "House," along with a host of Italian-made productions. "These programs are ... spreading misinformation," Silvestsro said. No word if RAI or Mediaset plan on adjusting their schedules.
Jung Ji-hoon, the actor and Pan-Asian pop idol better know as Rain, will make an appearance Aug. 21 at the Olympic Rendezvous @ Samsung pavilion as part of the company's campaign for its cell phones and mobile TV services. Jung won't sing his Olympics song "Anydream," but the company is expecting a mob of young fans.

Organizers of the 11th Pusan Promotion Plan have announced 30 films from 17 countries that will be showcased in this year's project development market. Helmers represented include such high-profile Asian directors as Lee Chang-dong ("Secret Sunshine"), Choi Dong-hoon ("Tazza"), Yamashita Nobuhiro ("Linda Linda Linda"), Lee Sang-il ("Hula Girls") and Chang Tso-chi ("The Best of Times"). This year, which features a greater emphasis on Asian and Korean films, marks a new high for international co-productions.
