The match peaked at 44.4 points and over 80 percent share in public television, making it the most popular TV broadcast of 2014 in Argentina.

BUENOS AIRES – Argentina's win over Nigeria by 3-2 on Wednesday topped the 2014 ratings in Lionel Messi's country, with an average 41.1 points (over 80 percent share) and a peak of 44.4, according to numbers by Ibope reported by public television, which broadcasted the match. Each point represents 96,782 according to Ibope's website.

This is the highest mark since the beginning of the 2014 World Cup for the Argentine team, a six points improvement over Argentina's debut against Bosnia, and a 3.5 increase over its last game against Iran. Argentina's first match draw a 32 points average on La Television Publica and a 37 peak, while the match against Iran marked 35.5 and a 40.4 peak.
