Writing duo on trek to 'Colony'

Stacy Title, Jonathan Penner to pen eco-horror tale

Stacy Title and Jonathan Penner will write the eco-horror tale "The Colony" for Participant Media.

Steven Schneider of Room 101 and Vertigo Entertainment's Doug Davison and Roy Lee are producing, with Gabriel Mason executive producing. Participant exec vp production Jonathan King will oversee.

The socially progressive Participant grabbed the pitch because King said it combines "a really scary movie" with "a completely realistic environmental cautionary tale."

Title and Penner, repped by ICM and Modus Entertainment, have penned screenplays for the Oscar-nominated short "Down on the Waterfront" and the crime thriller "Let the Devil Wear Black." They are writing the horror pilot "Buried" for AMC with Schneider producing and "Hannah's on Main" for ABC Studios/Lifetime.
