'X-Files' goes to India on Fox Star

Hindi, Tamil-dubbed drama to bow Sept. 26

NEW DELHI -- Fox Star Studios India will release "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" in India on Sept. 26, the newly formed Mumbai-based joint venture between News Corp.'s Star and Fox Studios said Friday.

Dubbed in Hindi and Tamil, "X-Files" will be the first Fox title to be distributed here by FSSI. After "X-Files," FSSI will next release sci-fi film "Babylon A.D." on Oct. 10.

Previously, Fox was distributed by Mumbai-based Warner Bros. Films India following the shuttering of 20th Century Fox India's Mumbai office in 2005. The Fox-Warner agreement was later dissolved.

FSSI also has plans to produce and distribute local films starting with the acquisition of upcoming Indian comedy "Quick Gun Murugan."
