X Filme Re-Teams With Oskar Roehler for 'The Sources of Life'
German regional film board NRW Filmstiftung has backed 'Sources' with $2.2 million in production financing.
COLOGNE, Germany -- Director Oskar Roehler (Atomized) will re-team with Berlin producer X Filme for his new feature, the family epic Die Quellen des Lebens (The Sources of Life). Roehler and X Filme last joined forces for Agnes and His Brothers in 2004.
Quellen, which will star Martina Gedeck, Nora Tschirner, Matthias Schweighofer and Jurgen Vogel, tells the story of a single family over 40 years and three generations. Regional film board NRW Filmstiftung has backed Quellenwith $2.2 million in production financing.
NRW, in its latest round of funding, is also backing Sherry Hormann's tragicomedy The Pursuit of Unhappiness, based on the best-selling self-help book by Paul Watzlawick; the rom-com Unheilbar Verliebt (Incurably In Love) starring Jessica Schwarz and Max Riemelt andGeorg Maas' Zwei Leben (Two Lives), a spy story set in Germany and Norway starring Liv Ullmann, Juliane Kohler and Devid Striesow.
