XM offers King highlight reel
EmptyIn celebration of Larry King's 50 years in broadcasting, XM Satellite Radio said Thursday that it will offer a special channel airing King's unforgettable moments and interviews. Larry! will air from April 16-20.
Among the interviews scheduled for Larry! are King's interviews with Bob Hope, Jackie Gleason, Johnny Cash, Oprah Winfrey, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Gregory Peck, President Nixon and Larry Flynt. In addition, the channel will feature live broadcasts of CNN's special anniversary weekend programming, including new King interviews with Winfrey and President Clinton. Also scheduled are special interviews with King hosted by XM's Bob Edwards and CBS' Katie Couric.
King is the host of CNN's highest-rated and longest-running show. He began his broadcast career in 1957 in radio on WIOD-AM in Miami. By 1978, his radio show went national, inheriting the nightly talk show slot on the Mutual Radio Network. King was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 1989.
