Yash Raj Films resolved dispute with Adlabs

'Tashan' will hit mutliplexes

NEW DELHI - Bollywood powerhouse Yash Raj Films resolved a revenue sharing dispute with theater operator Adlabs and others clearing the way for "Tashan" (Attitude), one of the summer's most anticipated films, to hit mutliplexes on Saturday, more than a week after its initial limited release.

"An understanding has been reached between YRF and the multiplexes for the entire YRF slate of films for 2008. The terms agreed upon are to the mutual satisfaction of all concerned parties," YRF said in a statement on Friday.

Mumbai-based Adlabs Films, which has over 150 screens, and New Delhi-based PVR Cinemas, were parties to the agreement.

Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya with a rumored $9 million budget (360 million rupees), the action musical "Tashan" stars Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor and Bollywood's current It couple, actress Kareena Kapoor and actor Saif Ali Khan.

YRF's upcoming releases include "Roadside Romeo," the animation feature co-production with Walt Disney -- voiced by Khan and Kapoor -- set for October 24. YRF is one of Bollywood's most successful banners due to hits which has recent hits like "Chak De! India" (Come On! India) to its credit.
