ZDF signs TV movie package deals



CANNES – Mid-way through MIPCOM, German sales agent ZDF Enterprises has sealed a raft of deals, signing TV movie packages with, among others, France's TF1, YLE of Finland and Belgian channel RTBF.

ZDF's German-language series and TV movies have proved the most popular with buyers. Top sellers include new family series "Here Comes Kalle," which went to TF1 in France, Mediaset in Italy and RTBF in Belgium and the long-running Rosamunde Pilcher collection of TV movie melodramas which sold to Fox Life Italy, Fox Life France and Prorom Romania.

On the documentary side, the most popular ZDF program was the three-part series "Update – The World in 50 Years" which was sold across Eastern and Central Europe. Britain's channel Five has picked up ZDF's " Black September - The Attack on the 1972 Munich Olympics" and The History Channel U.K. nabbed the five-parter "The Wehrmacht".

ZDF Enterprises also sold several large documentary packages to RAI and the History Channel in Italy, Animal Planet, n-tv and Spiegel TV in Germany, Smithsonian Network in the USA and the History Channel in Great Britain, among others.
