'Zoey 101' special gives Nick numbers

On the heels of the announcement that "Zoey 101" star Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant, a one-hour special on Friday pulled in big numbers for Nickelodeon.

"Goodbye Zoey," which premiered at 8 p.m. Friday, drew 7.3 million total viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research.

That was good enough to make it the No. 2 most-watched cable program of the week, behind ESPN's Dec. 31 telecast of the Chick-fil-A Bowl, which featured Auburn beating Clemson 20-23. The game averaged 7.5 million viewers.

The "Zoey 101" special featured a pivotal plot for the series in which the independent teen struggles over the decision with whether to move to London with her parents or to stay put with her pals at Pacific Coast Academy.
