Zurich Film Festival: Susanne Bier, Val Kilmer Join Jury
'Green Lantern' producer Donald De Line, French actress Marie Masmonteil and Bosnia director Jasmila Zbanic complete the international panel
Oscar-winning director Susanne Bier (In a Better World) will head up the international jury for the 10th Zurich International Film Festival.
Bier, whose latest film, A Second Chance, recently had its world premiere in Toronto, will oversee the five-person jury that selects the winner's of Zurich's main feature film honors.
Actor Val Kilmer, Green Lantern producer Donald De Line, French actress and producer Marie Masmonteil and Bosnian director Jasmila Zbanic complete the international panel.
Oscar-nominated director/producer Steve James (Hoop Dreams) will be president of the Zurich documentary film jury, together with British director Nick Broomfield (Kurt & Courtney), Indian filmmaker Nishtha Jain (Gulabi Gang) and photographer Greg Gorman.
Zurich's third competitive jury, judging German-language features, will be headed by Cloud Atlas producer Stefan Ardnt and includes German actress Iris Berben, directors Jan-Ole Gerster (Oh Boy) and Anna Thommen (Neuland) and producer Peter Reichenbach (Night Train to Lisbon).
The juries will award cash prizes of $27,000 (CHF 25,000) to films in the international feature film and international documentary film categories and $21,000 (CHF 20,000) to the festival's best German-language production. The winning film from each category also receives an additional $107,000 (CHF 100,000) worth of distribution support.
