Dave Karger, the highly respected awards expert and frequent commentator for major TV networks, has left Fandango, the ticket-selling website, where he served as chief correspondent for the past three-plus years.

"After a fantastic three and a half years launching original video content at Fandango, the time was right to try something new," Karger, who is currently traveling in Europe, told The Hollywood Reporter. "I will be continuing my affiliations with the Today show, E! and Access Hollywood, and the door remains open for me to contribute to Fandango occasionally as well. But I'm excited to see what else I can do going forward."

A spokesperson for Fandango said the company looks forward to teaming with Karger on special projects in the future.

The 43-year-old, who made his name at Entertainment Weekly, where he worked for 17 years prior to joining Fandango, has also served as the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' official red-carpet greeter at the Oscars and a moderator of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival's annual Virtuosos Award ceremony.
