Santa Barbara Film Fest: Gal Gadot, Timothee Chalamet Among 7 Tapped for Virtuoso Honor

Mary J. Blige, John Boyega, Hong Chau, Daniel Kaluuya and Kumail Nanjiani also will be honored at a Feb. 3 ceremony.

Mary J. Blige (Mudbound), John Boyega (Detroit), Timothee Chalamet (Call Me by Your Name), Hong Chau (Downsizing), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out) and Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick) will receive Virtuosos Awards from the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, the festival announced Wednesday.

The presentation, which will be moderated by Dave Karger for the eighth time, will take place Feb. 3 at Santa Barbara's historic Arlington Theatre as part of SBIFF's 33rd edition, which is set to run Jan. 31-Feb 10.

"2017 has seen a variety of breakout performances," SBIFF executive director Roger Durling said in a statement. "We are thrilled to celebrate this diverse group of actors who have earned their place as some of the most talented individuals working in the industry today."

The fest previously announced honors for Victoria & Abdul's Judi Dench, The Florida Project's Willem Dafoe and Darkest Hour's Gary Oldman. It will announce other honorees in the coming weeks.
