Francis Ford Coppola Winery Renews Partnerships With Sundance, Oscars

Francis Ford Coppola Winery has renewed a pair of high-profile partnerships.

Pours will continue courtesy of new pacts with the Sundance Institute and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that will see the winery return for a second year in a row as exclusive wine sponsor of the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, and the brand will be the sole wine poured at the 90th Oscars and Governors Ball, the official post-Oscars celebration. Scheduled for March 4, the event will feature custom wine blends and commemorative labels for this year's special anniversary.

Francis Ford Coppola Winery will do more at Sundance than just keep wine glasses full, however. Attendees can visit the winery’s activation at the Festival Co-Op on Main Street, called the Coppola Club, where they can view the Family Coppola’s first original branded short film, The Red Stain, directed by Rodrigo Saavedra.

Back to the wine: The Family Coppola will also debut the new Diamond Collection Pavilion Chardonnay and introduce a rewards program for Family Coppola insiders. Peet's Coffee will also be poured. 

In other Sundance news, the family will announce the winner of the Francis Coppola Director’s Short Film Competition, a collaboration with Francis Ford Coppola Winery and Zoetrope: All-Story, at a private venue. The five competition finalists — selected by Roman Coppola — are Jon Ayon, Gus Péwé, David Bornstein, Odessa Young and Matt Nelsen. A viewers' choice winner can be voted on here

We’ve been encouraged by the response, and grateful for the introduction to such inventive and imaginative work, especially from new and emerging filmmakers,” said Roman Coppola.
