Spend Eternity With Merv Griffin, Eva Gabor for $20,000
Want to spend eternity with Eva Gabor and Merv Griffin?
It'll cost you $20,000, at least according to an email sent to THR pitching an urn niche — "accommodates two" — located "a short walk to Marilyn Monroe's grave" at the Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park and Mortuary.
The seller of the plot, identifying herself as Annette, is also on eBay with a post that reads: "This is the gift for a lifetime … and beyond."
“No sites remain available in this small, prestigious cemetery,” reads Annette’s email, which goes on to advertise the big stars laid to rest there, people like Dean Martin, Natalie Wood, Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, Merv Griffin, Billy Wilder, Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, Truman Capote, Frank Zappa and Hugh Hefner.
Her offering, Niche #111, “is a short walk to Marilyn Monroe’s grave.” As further evidence of the starry surroundings, Annette included an alphabetized list of all the Hollywood stars interred at Pierce Brothers with an opening for two more: “You and your partner.”
But maybe keep your wallet in your pocket. THR called Pierce Brothers Memorial Park directly, and a rep there says that the cemetery is not short on niches, with plenty still left for sale — including some in older areas of the park — for $3,995.
