Katy Perry Wished Her CAA Agent Happy Birthday Via Sky Banner
Katy Perry really appreciates her agent and went to great heights Feb. 1 to show him. The superstar hired a plane to fly a banner in the skies above CAA's Century City headquarters to wish Michael Kives a happy birthday; the banner read, "Kives Is the Best Agent in the World."
Perry took to social media to explain. "It was either flying this over the CAA building for 15 minutes or a gift certificate to a spa," she wrote to her 95 million Twitter and 60 million Instagram followers. "You know you're my favorite, I just wanted credit for this idea."
THR couldn't reach Kives for comment, but he must've appreciated the gesture as he retweeted Perry's post.
As for the cost, according to Justin Jaye at Fly Signs Aerial Advertising, which handles local flights, the cost of flying such a banner over Century City would be $1,000 per 30 minutes. He couldn't confirm, however, if his company was behind Perry's birthday present.
