Friday night is morphing into Fright Night for the Michigan Democratic Party.

With just five days to go before Election Day, the cast from the 1985 cult classic are gathering for a virtual live reading of the script along with special appearances by Star Wars star Mark Hamill, Rosario Dawson and self-proclaimed Fright Night superfan Michael Rosenbaum. The event, scheduled for 8 p.m. ET, will raise funds for the party in the swing state.

Fright Night stars confirmed to attend are Chris Sarandon, William Ragsdale, Amanda Bearse, Stephen Geoffreys, Jonathan Stark, Dorothy Fielding, Art Evans and Chris Hendrie. Per her tweet, Michigan attorney general Dana Nessel said she will be moderating the post-show Q&A. Written and directed by Tom Holland, 1985's Fright Night centers on a teen who discovers that a new neighbor is a vampire. He then turns to a TV actor with experience with the undead for how to survive. Legendary TV critic Roger Ebert described it as "wickedly funny."

"We know the road to the White House goes directly through Michigan," said Lavora Barnes, Michigan Democratic party chair. "We are thrilled that the cast of Fright Night is willing to host this unique event and help the Michigan Democratic Party. This is going to be a very cool Halloween experience."

Speaking of experiences, fans of beloved films and TV shows have been offered many high-profile reunions in recent days. Casts from such projects as The Princess Bride, Seinfeld, Parks and Recreation, Star Trek, Spinal Tap, The Avengers, Superbad, Dazed and Confused, Private Practice and Happy Days have all gotten together for political fundraisers as of late. Next up: Hocus Pocus and Rocky Horror.
