Nanci Ryder and her Team Nanci supporters are close to breaking the $100,000 fundraising mark with just two days to go before Sunday's 15th annual L.A. County Walk to Defeat ALS.

Ryder, the onetime power publicist and BWR co-founder who has been battling ALS since 2014, currently leads all the fundraising teams, backed by longtime friends and former clients like Renee Zellweger and Courteney Cox, both of whom are confirmed to join Ryder this weekend in Exposition Park near downtown Los Angeles. They won't be the only ones.

Ever since Ryder's first showing at the walk, just weeks after officially revealing her diagnosis three years ago, she has been been swarmed by friends and industry peers by the dozens. She has also led all fundraising teams since their ALS Walk debut, raising $600,000 in support of the ALS community. (In 2016, her team raised north of $126,000 and saw close to 100 participants in the 1-mile walk including Zellweger, Cox, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Garner.)

Fred Fisher, president and CEO of ALS Association Golden West Chapter, praised Team Nanci's efforts to The Hollywood Reporter at 2016's event as well as the woman herself. "Nanci Ryder is an extraordinary advocate for ALS. She has really turned her own personal challenge into a cause and has done what we need people to do, which is rally her friends and colleagues in support for the search for a treatment for her and for the thousands and thousands living with this disease," he said.

The 15th annual L.A. County Walk to Defeat ALS is the largest annual Walk event hosted by the ALS Association Golden West Chapter, and all funds tallied  support the mission-critical priorities of the ALS Association Golden West Chapter in care services, public policy and research. As of press time, Team Nanci has raised $97,205 towards a goal of $200,000, and Ryder is currently listed as the No. 1 fundraiser for this year's event, tallying $56,375 as of press time.
