'The Neon Demon' Celebrated With Two L.A. Premieres in One Night

Nicolas Winding Refn's The Neon Demon will light up Los Angeles twice on Tuesday.

Amazon Studios and Broad Green Pictures have organized back-to-back premiere events in the Hollywood-area, starting with a free fan premiere at Hollywood Forever Cemetery as part of the Cinespia outdoor screening series. Tickets were offered on a first-come, first-serve basis, and, apparently, went rather quickly. According to Ticketfly, tickets are no longer available. (Amazon is one of the sponsors of Cinespia.)

Refn and the cast will participate in an early panel discussion at the cemetery before heading over to the night's other big premiere — the official red carpet premiere at ArcLight Hollywood. Refn will walk the carpet outside the iconic Cinerama Dome along with stars Elle Fanning, Jena Malone, Bella Heathcote, Christina Hendricks and Keanu Reeves. Composer Cliff Martinez is also expected.

But then it's back to the cemetery for a chills-inducing afterparty among the headstones.

So why two events on the same night, one mile apart?

"With a premiere every night in this town, we wanted to create a big event to showcase this stunning film," said Bob Berney, head of marketing and distribution for Amazon Studios, about the film, which had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May. "The choice to do a traditional premiere at the ArcLight Hollywood dome in tandem with a Cinespia fan premiere at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery fits perfectly with Nicholas' fan base and the target audience for The Neon Demon. It’s a bold, fun, terrifying film that crosses several genres, so having a multi-tier premiere plan — featuring bloody popcorn — fits into our overall campaign."

Everyone else can see Neon Demon when it opens June 24.
