Steven Spielberg turned 70 on Dec. 18, celebrating in style in the Bahamas on his 282-foot mega yacht, the Seven Seas, with a guest list that included David Geffen, J.J. Abrams and Martin Short.

Geffen posted two photos about the adventure on Instagram, one of him and Short in the car on the way home Dec. 19, and another the following day of a group shot of the quartet on the yacht. Not much else is known about how the private Spielberg toasted the major milestone — his rep didn't respond to a request for comment — but being at sea was a fitting way to end the year for Geffen.

The 73-year-old clearly spent a ton of time on the water in 2016, mostly on his own mega yacht, the Rising Sun. Geffen and his 454-foot luxury ship recently hosted Rita Wilson's 60th birthday party in the Sea of Cortez. Guests included her husband, Tom Hanks, Bruce Springsteen and wife Patti, and husband-and-wife producing partners Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald.

Other notables who hung out on the Rising Sun in 2016 include Leonardo DiCaprio, Oprah Winfrey, Paul McCartney, Jimmy Iovine, Julia Roberts, Maria Shriver, Gayle King, Ted Sarandos and wife Nicole Avant, and Mariah Carey and former fiance James Packer.
