Peppermint, Shameek Bose, Damien Hooper-Campbell and Tiffany R. Warren Named to GLAAD National Board
GLAAD will start 2021 with new members on its National Board of Directors. Peppermint, Shameek Bose, and Damien Hooper-Campbell have joined the board and Tiffany R. Warren is back for a second term.
“With their passion for social change and their knowledge and expertise in growing diversity, equity and inclusion in media, entertainment, and business, our new board members are true reflections of the breadth of GLAAD’s mission and reach,” said GLAAD's Sarah Kate Ellis. “Our work in 2021 will be centered on including LGBTQ acceptance and representation at ever possible aperture – from Hollywood to global business – and our new slate of board members will be imperative to shape and execute this timely work.”
Peppermint, the first trans woman to originate a principal role on Broadway courtesy of the show Head Over Heels, is an actress, singer, DJ, reality star and activist. She rose to prominence on RuPaul’s Drag Race and has followed it up with Pose, God Friended Me and Deputy. Her associations with GLAAD include hosting the 2019 Gala San Francisco.
Bose, the North American Lead for the World Economic Forum, is a business strategist who serves as a frequent adviser to C-suite executives. Hooper-Campbell is the first chief diversity officer at Zoom. Prior to joining Zoom, he served as vp and chief diversity officer at eBay. His resume also includes time at Uber, Google and Goldman Sachs’ Pine Street Leadership Development Group.
Warren serves as executive vp and chief diversity and inclusion officer for Sony Music Group. In her newly created role, Warren is expanding equity and inclusion activities and policies across of all SMG global recorded music, publishing and corporate divisions. Her resume also includes ADCOLOR and serving the boards of organizations like the Ad Council, Brotherhood|Sister Sol, American Advertising Federation and the Ghetto Film School.
Pamela Stewart, who serves as president of West Operations of the North America Operating Unit for Coca-Cola North America, is the chair of GLAAD's board of directors.
