Sundance Getting First CBD-Focused Wellness Pop-Up

Heading to Park City, Utah, for this month’s Sundance Film Festival? No need to pack the CBD.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Main Street will get its first-ever CBD pop-up shop during the festival in Wellhaus, a wellness activation done in partnership between live event, festival and entertainment production company Axcess Entertainment and presenting sponsor, Colorado-based hemp and CBD experts Charlotte’s Web.

Located in the Cantina space at 412 Main Street during Sundance’s opening weekend, from Jan. 25-27, Wellhaus has drafted chef Chris Sayegh — cheekily known as “The Herbal Chef” for his cannabis-infused culinary exploits — to create a menu and “culinary activations” as part of a program that will also feature programming, happy hours, nightly dinners, networking opportunities and hospitality activations. 

Organizers have revealed that they have partnered with the producers of the film Before You Know It, which is premiering in Sundance's dramatic competition, though it's unclear what that partnership will produce. Before You Know It was directed by Hannah Pearl Utt and stars her alongside Jen Tullock, Judith Light, Mandy Patinkin, Mike Colter and Alec Baldwin.

According to Axcess Entertainment, Wellhaus marks the first fully integrated health, wellness and CBD-focused concept house at the festival. This will be the debut installment of the concept before it goes on the road with scheduled stops later this year in cities including Malibu, Indio (for Coachella), Las Vegas, Austin, Toronto, Miami and New York.

Weed has been on the minds of many Utah residents following the state’s passage late last year of a medical marijuana proposition.
