In "H2O," a charming one-hour original movie from Nickelodeon, three Aussie teen girls get the adventure of a lifetime. Put under a spell after entering an ancient cavern in the sea, the three turn into mermaids whenever they hit water again.

It isn't exactly every young girl's dream of escape, but "H20" comes pretty close to carrying away its target viewers on a magical mystery ride. That will happen on a regular basis when "H2O" transforms into a weekly Sunday evening series.

The three girls (played by delightful actresses Claire Holt, Phoebe Tonkin and Cariba Heine) wander too far out into the water and become enchanted, so to speak. At first, the girls are shocked by their fins, then of course they find power they never knew they had. The movie is beautiful to look at, filmed on location on the Gold Coast Region of Queensland, Australia. It's also loaded with imagination and spirit. Writer Philip Dalkin and director Colin Budds give the story humor and keep it going at a good clip.
