Continental Media Picks Up International Rights to 'Refuge' (Exclusive)

Continental Media, run by Matthew Shreder and James Andrew Felts, has picked up international rights to Refuge, a drama featuring Don’t Trust the B- in Apartment 23 star Krysten Ritter and The Hurt Locker's Brian Geraghty.

The company will shop the film at AFM, which runs October 31 to November 7 in Santa Monica.

Jessica Goldberg wrote and directed the indie, an adaptation of her own play, and the movie premiered at the Hamptons Film Festival.

The feature-length film revolves around a young woman, Amy (Ritter), who has been raising her brother (Logan Huffman) and sister (Madeleine Martin) since their parents’ skipped town. Things are shaken up for the family when Amy picks up a handsome drifter (Geraghty) in a bar, which changes the family dynamic when he decides to stay in town and become involved in their lives.

The pic was produced by Jack Heller and Dallas Sonnier of Caliber Media Co.  Austin Stark and Benji Kohn. Chris Papavasiliou’s Paper Street Films and Gary Cogill and Richard Toussaint’s Lascaux Films are executive producing.
