Tribeca Film Grabs U.S. & Canadian Rights to 'Turkey Bowl'
The touch football comedy had its premiere at the SXSW Film Festival in March.
Tribeca Film has acquired all U.S. and Canadian rights to Turkey Bowl, written and directed by Kyle Smith. The rookie indie distributor plans a release in late June.
A real-time comedy that takes place during a touch football game between a bunch of friends in Los Angeles, the film had its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival in March. Kerry Bishé, Zoe Perry, Zeke Hawkins and Tom DiMenna star.
Smith and Stephen Paratore produced.
“We are incredibly pleased to be bringing the debut from a talented young director, Kyle Smith, to audiences,” said Tribeca Enterprises chief creative officer Geoffrey Gilmore. "Turkey Bowl is a very special film with a spot on depiction of sports and friendships.”
Nick Savva negotiated the deal for Tribeca with attorney George M. Rush on behalf of Smith.
