Pac Man is returning to the ring for the first time since defeating Keith Thurman in 2019. Filipino boxer-turned-senator Manny Pacquiao and Cuba’s Yordenis Ugás will fight for the WBA welterweight belt this weekend in one of the most highly-anticipated bouts of the year.
At 42, Pacquiao is the oldest welterweight champion in history, while Ugás (a.k.a. “54 Milagros”) is the last-minute replacement for Errol Spence Jr., who dropped out as a result of an eye injury. The fight marks the first time that Ugás will defend his WBA title.
The fight lineup also includes a welterweight bout between Robert Guerrero and Victor Ortiz, and a featherweight matchup between Mark Magsayo and Julio Ceja.
As for the fight spectators, expect no shortage of celebrity fans in the crowd — Mark Wahlberg and Liam Neeson are among stars who are known to be on #TeamPacMan, while Diddy, Justin Bieber, LeBron James and Travis Barker are frequently seen seated outside of the ring.
