Fresh off stepping into a new Hollywood Hills manse, Chrishell Stause has yet another stylish project. The Selling Sunset star has curated a summer-ready collection of footwear and accessories for DSW, and she toasted the collaboration Wednesday with a carnival-themed cocktail party at West Hollywood’s iconic Sunset Tower Hotel.
Guests including 30 Rock actress Katrina Bowden, Bachelorette in Paradise contestant Amanda Stanton and The Hills star Ashley Wahler were among to try their hand at ring toss and claw machine games. Partygoers also enjoyed cocktails and canapés while perusing crystal-embellished wrap heels by Mix No. 6 (which Stause paired with a fluo-pink crushed velvet mini dress at the launch celebration), crystal-embellished Jessica Simpson sandals, mirrored envelope clutches and rattan crossbody bags.
Priced from $35 to $80, the nine-piece range also includes pastel yellow Vans sneakers, heels by Marc Fisher and sandals by Steve Madden.
“We’ve all been pent up, it feels really good to finally get out and have a little fun again, and fashion is the first place you can do that,” Stause tells The Hollywood Reporter. Of her DSW edit, “[after] we were all locked down and couldn’t go anywhere, my eye was going to color. I wanted to pick all of the most colorful fun pieces that I could find. Now that we’re all finally able to get back out, I feel like rules have changed a little bit, it’s fun to do something a little bit more unexpected than we would have done before. Personally, that’s how the last year has changed me.”
As for that new manse up in the hills? Buying “was such a process, the market is tricky and crazy, and I was able to get myself a great deal, but it was a lot of work and I didn’t get the first house that I went after, but I’m so happy and everything happens for a reason. The house I got is way better than the house I lost out on,” says the L.A. real estate agent.
When asked about the most stylish spot in the space, Stause reveals that “the closet is going to be amazing but it’s a work in progress because I’m knocking out a wall. I’m going to make the most amazing girl closet you’ve ever seen.”
With her first memoir, Under Construction: Because Living My Best Life Took a Little Work, slated to land on bookshelves Feb. 8, 2022, the actress-turned-realtor explains it was “one of the upsides of being in lockdown, was really using that as a process to put my words down on paper because normally I wouldn’t have as much time to be able to do that.”
“It was a really great process; it was a little stressful because you do have deadlines, but [it was great] to feel that people have been inspired by my story and to be able to put purpose behind having come from homelessness… This is my story and it’s not what you would expect if you’re just looking from the outside.”
Though she was able to carve out writing time, Stause reveals that work hasn’t exactly come to a screeching halt.
“The luxury market didn’t slow down a ton; we had a lot of people who wanted to move because of the pandemic. They were working from home and wanted to enjoy their home more,” she explains. “Interest rates are the lowest they’ve ever been, so I am so busy! Up until I got out of the car I was doing a deal. I just listed a house today and I was on the way out of the house scheduling showings.”
