AMC's 'Walking Dead' Lawyer Apologizes for Obscenity-Laced Emails to Trump Commenter
In a twist fit for primetime television, expletive-laden emails written by President Donald Trump's attorney Marc Kasowitz have surfaced on the same day the lawyer filed court documents, for his other client AMC, that derided obscenity-fueled emails written by The Walking Dead co-creator Frank Darabont.
A Rachel Maddow viewer emailed Kasowitz and suggested he should quit working for Trump, ProPublica reports. The lawyer responded in a series of messages that started with "F*ck you" — asterisk included.
"Watch your back, bitch," states a second message.
"Don't be afraid, you piece of shit," says a third.
In the fourth message, Kasowitz says he's Jewish and presumes the man who emailed him is too. He then tells the man, "I already know where you live, I'm on you. You might as well call me."
Kasowitz spokesman Mike Sitrick issued a statement in response to the incident: "Mr. Kasowitz, who is tied up with client matters, said he intends to apologize to the writer of the email referenced in today’s ProPublica story. While no excuse, the email came at the end of a very long day that at 10 p.m. was not yet over."
He also included a statement from the attorney himself. "The person sending that email is entitled to his opinion and I should not have responded in that inappropriate manner," said Kasowitz. "I intend to send him an email stating just that. This is one of those times where one wishes he could reverse the clock, but of course I can’t.”
AMC has not yet responded to a request for comment.
