Awards season is nearly in full swing with the 2019 Golden Globe nominations announcement streaming on Dec 6., one month before the awards ceremony on Jan. 6. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which has been reviewing contenders since late November, will live-stream the nominations this morning via Facebook and the Golden Globes website in addition to the telecast on NBC. Terry Crews, Danai Gurira, Leslie Mann and Christian Slater will announce the 2019 Golden Globe nominees live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Also on hand will be Isan Elba, Golden Globe Ambassador; Meher Tatna, HFPA president; and Barry Adelman, executive producer and executive vp television at Dick Clark Productions.
Nominations will be announced across film and TV; last year’s Golden Globe nominees included films like The Post, winner Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and Oscar-winner The Shape of Water, as well as series such as The Crown, Game of Thrones, The Handmaid’s Tale and Big Little Lies.
After the HFPA releases the 2019 Golden Globe nominations, final ballots will be mailed to all members by Dec. 17. Participants will then have until Jan. 2 at 5 p.m. to cast their votes for their favorite actors, films, series and more. For a second year in a row, NBC.com will also live-stream the Jan. 6 ceremony online, in addition to sharing red carpet coverage leading up to the show on social media platforms.
The 76th Golden Globe Awards will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, with Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh hosting. Late Night host Seth Meyers emceed last year’s ceremony. The Golden Globe Awards ceremony is produced by Dick Clark Productions, which shares a parent company with The Hollywood Reporter.
