5 Big Shows Some Time Warner Cable Customers Can’t Watch

With the dispute between Time Warner Cable and CBS coming to a head Friday, three million homes are now without access to some of TV’s most-talked about shows, including Dexter, Big Brother and Under the Dome.

CBS stations went dark as of 5 p.m. ET Friday in areas including New York, Los Angeles and Dallas, as did pay services Showtime, TMC, FLIX and the Smithsonian channel. This has led CBS to appeal to fans through a Time Square advertisement and Twitter, reminding them of the good times they’ve have with their programs and urging them to contact TWC.

Below find five of the hottest offerings no longer available in the affected areas.

Dexter

The Showtime series is in the middle of its eighth and final season, with episode six of 12 slated to air Sunday. Dexter airs its series finale Sept. 22. Shortly after the blackout, Dexter’s official twitter account tweeted this message to its 500,000 followers: “@TWC customers are no longer able to watch #  Dexter  ’s final season!” along with a video (below). The show airs Sundays at 9 p.m.

Under the Dome

CBS’ Stephen King adaptation about a town encapsulated by a mysterious dome is averaging 13.84 million viewers and a 3.5 among adults 18-49 and has been renewed for a second season. It airs its seventh of 12 episodes Monday at 10 p.m. and wraps up the season on Sept. 9.

Big Brother

Reality favorite and controversy lightning rod Big Brother evicted its fifth houseguest Thursday and has now been banned from some TWC customers’ homes. In its 15th season, the CBS show airs Sundays at 8 p.m.

Showtime’s freshman drama starring Liev Schreiber as a Hollywood fixer is in the middle of its season, airing episode six of 12 on Sunday. Last month, the show scored Showtime’s highest series debut ever. The drama airs Sundays at 10 p.m.

PGA Tour

CBS is sharing the golf tournament with TNT, and is airing the championship next weekend. On Saturday, Tiger Woods competes in the third round.

There are also a host of regional sporting events unavailable to customers in the affected areas. The dark stations include KCBS and KCAL in L.A; WCBS and WLNY in New York; KTVT and KTXA in Dallas; WBZ and WSBK in Boston; KDKA and CW affiliate WPCW in Pittsburgh; WBBM in Chicago; WKBD (The CW) in Detroit; and KCNC in Denver.
