President-elect Donald Trump gets his first opportunity to try to ease a divided nation on Sunday night.
The former reality star is set to sit down for his first proper interview since Tuesday’s presidential election, booking an appearance on 60 Minutes.
The interview, which is set to take place sometime on Friday in Trump’s gold-plated Manhattan residence, will be conducted by Lesley Stahl. It marks his first extensive post-election interview and follows a bit of a tradition for CBS’ venerable news show. President Barack Obama sat down with 60 Minutes after both of his election victories.
Also scheduled to appear during the interview are members of the Trump family: wife Melania and children Ivanka, Eric and Donald Jr. Even Tiffany Trump, his daughter with Marla Maples, is said to have been invited to participate, per a CBS News release.
As news vehicles go, 60 Minutes has the most enviable reach. The show, which benefits a great deal in the fall from NFL lead-ins, currently averages 13.2 million viewers.
