A&E Splits - P 2013
A+E Networks has doled out promotions to four key programming executives, upping all to the role of senior vice president. Elaine Frontain Bryant, Paul Cabana, Mary Donahue and Gena McCarthy will also assume their new positions effective Sept. 3.
The latest round of promotions since Nancy Dubuc was upped to CEO in April, the moves find Frontain Bryant as senior vp development at History, Cabana as senior vp and head of programming at H2, Donahue as senior vp non-fiction programming at Lifetime and McCarthy as senior vp programming at BIO.
BIO president Jana Bennett, History and H2 executive vp and GM Dirk Hoogstra and Lifetime executive vp and GM Rob Sharenow made the announcement on Monday.
“The extraordinary bench strength of our creative teams at A+E Networks allows us to give key executives new opportunities across our portfolio,” the trio said in a joint statement. “These exceptionally talented leaders have proven themselves time and again with their vision, instincts and passion. They have been instrumental in our extraordinary success, catapulting A&E, History, H2 and Lifetime into top market positions with some of the most cutting-edge content across the media landscape.”
Frontain Bryant, who has been with A&E since 2005, moves to History in the shuffle, while Cabana has been leading H2 for almost two years. History vet Donahue, who has been vp programming and development since 2010, moves to Lifetime, and McCarthy heads from Lifetime to BIO.
Hoogstra and Sharenow were both promoted into their new positions in June, the same time Bennett boarded A+E from BBC Worldwide.
