First up, The Advocate, comes from Vendetta Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and is being written and executive produced by Turner. A twist on a medical drama, it centers a business woman who leaves behind a booming career once a misdiagnosis opens her eyes to the hazards of the healthcare system. She becomes an advocate for those navigating the world of medicine. Also exec produced by Jennifer Klein, real-life advocates Dr. Valerie Ulene and Byrdie Lifson-Pompan serve as consulting producers.
From writers Josh Pate and Rodes Fishburne, Boom tells the story of an unprecedented oil discovery on U.S. soil that triggers an economic explosion in North Dakota — a modern spin on the Gold Rush and the move into the American West. Pate serves as executive producer alongside Tony Krantz. Fisburne is a co-ep.
Legal drama The Adversaries pits a patriarch of a New York legal dynasty against his federal prosecutor daughter when he ends up on the defense in his own trial. Zabel, who created Betrayal and wrote for Detroit 1-8-7, is writing and executive producing.
Sallie Patrick‘s Kingmakers is an Ivy League-set thriller about a young man who infiltrates the school and an old secret society to find out how his sister died during her freshman year. Patrick is writing and executive producing.
Boom, The Adversaries and Kingmakers all come from ABC Studios.
