TORONTO – ABC entertainment president Paul Lee will deliver the opening keynote address at the upcoming Banff World Media Festival in June.
The ABC Entertainment Group topper will make a post-Upfront speech to the international media and technology community at the Canadian Rockies retreat.
“I’m honored to deliver the opening address for this year’s Banff World Media Festival. This is a pivotal time for television and digital media, and I look forward to continuing the dialogue with thought leaders from around the world about the opportunities ahead and the innovations that will shape the future of our industry,” Lee said in a statement Tuesday.
As Steve McPherson’s predecessor, Lee last year consolidated his hold on ABC entertainment with the formation of Times Square Studios.
That followed the Brit spending several years at BBC as head of BBC America, before heading to ABC and leading the ABC Family channel from 2004 to 2010.
On June 11, Lee will take the stage at the Banff Springs Hotel to set the table for the Canadian media festival with a keynote expected to turn on the global competition for creative talent among Los Angeles and other international TV hubs like Toronto and London.
The Banff World Media Festival is set to run from June 10 to 13 in the Canadian Rockies.
