ABC has found its leading lady for drama pilot For Love.
Lex Scott Davis has landed the starring role in the mystery drama.
Here’s ABC’s description of the potential series: Five years ago, Hope Castille’s fiancé was killed. This morning she received a phone call from him. An epic love triangle set against a grounded, secret world of magic in present day New Orleans.
Davis will play Hope, a hardworking journalist for the Times-Picayune. She has experienced great tragedy, but does not live life with a heavy heart. Hope has found love after losing her fiancé five years ago, and is ready to restart her life with Gabriel Dumaine (Ethan Peck). But she will soon discover that something strange stirs in New Orleans when she receives a clue that will lead her to discover that magic exists in the shadows of the city. Luke Arnold, Jon Ecker, Isabella Russo, Rachel Skarsten and Chloe Wepper co-star.
Davis’ credits including playing Toni Braxton in Lifetime’s biopic and CBS’ Training Day. She next has features SuperFly, followed by The First Purge and recently wrapped production on indie Foster Boy. She’s repped by ICM Partners and Luber Roklin Management.
Michael Cooney (Identity) penned the script and exec produces the ABC Studios pilot alongside Kim Moses. John Dahl will exec produce and direct the pilot, which will shoot in New Orleans.
