ABC Family Sets Debuts for Four New Series, ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Return Date

It’s about to get even busier this summer for ABC Family.

The cable network announced its summer schedule Monday with the launch dates for four new series: scripted dramas The Fosters and Twisted, as well as reality efforts The Vineyard and Dancing Fools. Additionally, the premieres of several returning series, including Pretty Little Liars, also were set.

The Fosters, from executive producer Jennifer Lopez, will launch June 3 at 9 p.m. following the series finale of The Secret Life of the American Teenager. The Fosters centers on two moms (Teri Polo and Sherri Saum) as they raise a multi-ethnic family with foster and biological kids. Jake T. Austin, Hayden Byerly, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell, Danny Nucci and Cierra Ramirez co-star.

Twisted (formerly Socio), from executive producer Gavin Polone, will debut June 11 at 9 p.m. A one-hour mystery drama, the series follows a 16-year-old (Avan Jogia) with a troubled past who recently has reconnected with his two best friends (Maddie Hasson and Kylie Bunbury). He becomes the prime suspect when a fellow student is found dead in her home. Kimberly Quinn, Sam Robards, Ashton Moio and Denise Richards co-star.

Docu-soap The Vineyard will debut July 24 at 9 p.m. It follows a group of 20-somethings who spend their summer at Martha’s Vineyard. The half-hour Dancing Fools, hosted by Melissa Peterman, will launch May 29 9 p.m.

Returning favorites Pretty Little Liars will return for season four June 11 at 8 p.m.; Switched at Birth returns June 10 at 8 p.m.; Baby Daddy premieres season two May 29 at 8:30 p.m.; and Melissa & Joey kicks of season three May 29 at 8 p.m.
