ABC Family has added two to the cast of its Mortal Instruments drama.
Blue Bloods alum Alberto Rosende and actress Emeraude Toubia (Voltea Pa’ Que Te Enamores) have been joined Shadowhunters, the network announced Friday.
Based on the best-selling young adult fantasy book series, Shadowhunters follows Clary Fray, who finds out on her 18th birthday that she is not who she thinks she is, but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters — human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. When her mother is kidnapped, Clary is thrown into the world of demon hunting with mysterious Shadowhunter Jace and her best friend, Simon. Now living among faeries, warlocks, vampires and werewolves, Clary begins a journey of self-discovery as she learns more about her past and what her future may hold.

Rosende will play the intelligent and handsome Simon, Clary Fray’s longtime best friend. An accounting student by day, Simon is the first to find humor in any situation and spends his free time performing in a band. His loyalty and feelings for Clary are tested as he fights alongside her. Simon was portrayed by Robert Sheehan in the 2013 film.
Toubia will play Isabelle Lightwood, an exotic-looking and gorgeous Shadowhunter who is as lethal with a whip as she is beautiful. A trained fighter who can kick butt in high-heels, Isabelle’s only weakness is her choice in men – namely her taste in bad boys. Jemima West played Isabelle in the movie adaptation.
The two join the previously announced Dominic Sherwood (Vampire Academy), who will play Jace.
