ABC is back in business with prolific producer Mark Gordon.
The network has ordered the cast-contingent comedy pilot, White Man Van, with the Grey’s Anatomy producer’s company attached to produce.
The single-camera project is based on the British format, which centers on a man who is forced to put his dreams on hold in order to take over the family handyman business from his father.
Van, which is set up at ABC Studios, is being penned by Raising Hope scribe Bobby Bowman. ITV Studios America is developing the adaptation of the BBC3 series.
For Gordon’s part, this was one of more than 13 projects set up at the broadcast networks this development season. Among the others: a small screen adaptation of his film Source Code, which is in contention at CBS.
Gordon, who counts Criminal Minds among his other other small screen projects, and Bowman, whose other credits include My Name is Earl and Family Guy, are both repped by ICM.
