ABC isn’t wasting any time gearing up for the 2017-18 season.
Hours after announcing several series orders, the broadcaster unveiled first-look teasers at the projects.
The early videos include The Good Doctor, which hails from House showrunner David Shore and stars Freddie Highmore, and the Kyra Sedgwick drama Ten Days in the Valley, which marks her first series regular role since her Emmy-winning turn on The Closer.
Check out the videos and weigh in with your comments below.
After his career is ruined by scandal, superstar magician Cameron Black turns to the FBI. He becomes the world’s first consulting illusionist, helping the government solve crimes that defy explanation and trap criminals and spies by using deception.
Jenna Fischer (The Office) and Oliver Hudson (Nashville) play a couple whose relationship is reignited by their divorce.
The light drama follows Kevin Finn (Parenthood‘s Jason Ritter), a cluelessly self-serving person on a dangerous path to despair. In a downward spiral, Kevin returns home to stay with his widowed twin sister and on his first night there, an unlikely celestial being appears to him and tasks him with a mission to save the world.
Executive produced by Tony winner Daveed Diggs (Hamilton), the comedy revolves around an outspoken, idealistic rapper who runs for office as a publicity stunt and actually gets elected, surprising everyone (even himself) when he has a natural knack for the job and slowly transforms City Hall.
Shonda Rhimes executive produces the series, which is set in the Southern District of New York Federal Court, aka “The Mother Court.” The legal drama follows brand-new lawyers working on opposite sides — for both the defense and the prosecution — as they handle the most high-profile and high-stakes cases in the country, all as their personal lives intersect.
Centered on Shaun Murphy, a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome who relocates from a quiet country life to join a prestigious hospital’s surgical unit. Alone in the world and unable to personally connect with those around him, Shaun uses his extraordinary medical gifts to save lives and challenge the skepticism of his colleagues.
The hourlong drama centers on Jane Sadler, an overworked television producer and single mother dealing with a fractious separation. When her young daughter goes missing in the middle of the night, Jane’s world — and her controversial police series — implodes and she learns that no one can be trusted.
The mystery series follows a group of refugees from a war-torn country who seek asylum in a small American fishing town. The twist? The country these people are from is America … and the war they are fleeing hasn’t happened yet. The government must figure out what’s behind the mysterious pilgrimage, but it’s safe to say the lives of the people in this small town will never be the same again.
ABC’s latest Marvel series centers on the Inhumans, a race of superheroes with diverse and unique powers. The first two episodes of the freshman drama will first debut in Imax theaters across the country two weeks before their linear premiere.
