First, the female-skewing network may have found a single-mother comedy to pair with single-dad breakout hit Suburgatory.
The network has picked up to pilot How to Live With Your Parents for the Rest of Your Life, a single-camera comedy from Accidentally on Purpose creator Claudia Lonow loosely based on her own life.
From Imagine Television in association with 20th Television, Lonow will pen the script and executive produce with Imagine’s Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo on board as nonwriting EPs. The project revolves around Polly, a recently divorced single mom who moves in with her eccentric parents, Elaine and Max, a couple who know no boundaries.
Second, the net has ordered a pilot for a half-hour single-camera project from Due Date scribe Adam Stykiel. Described as a raw, hilarious peek behind the curtain of modern twentysomething relationships, Sztykiel will pen the 20th Television project and co-exec produce alongside Sean Perrone and Aaron Kaplan.
Third, Happy Endings and Scrubs writer-producers Steven Cragg and Brian Bradley will adapt the British series Only Fools & Horses. The ABC Studios multicamera project revolves around the misadventures of two streetwise brothers and their aging grandfather has they concoct outrageous, morally questionable get-rich-quick schemes in a bid to become millionaires.
The pickups join comedies Counter Culture, Dan Fogelman’s untitled alien family project, the Kari Lizer mom project, Kirstie Alley‘s The Manzanis and White Van Man as projects earning pilot orders at the network this season.
