ABC won Monday night with two hours of The Bachelor — which featured the much-hyped Dancing with the Stars cast announcement — and a new episode of Castle. For the night, ABC averaged a 3.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 10.8 million viewers overall, according to Nielsen.
Fox was second for the night with House (3.8, 10.9 million) winning the 8 p.m. hour while new drama The Chicago Code (2.1, 8.0 million) was flat week-to-week.
CBS was third (2.8, 9.1 million) with new episodes of How I Met Your Mother (3.4, 9.2 million), Mad Love (2.7, 7.9 million) and Mike & Molly (3.4, 11.4 million) and reruns of Two and a Half Men (3.2, 11.5 million) and 10 p.m. drama Hawaii Five-O (1.9, 7.2 million).
How I Met Your Mother and Mad Love were down slightly week-to-week, while Men, whose star Charlie Sheen has been on a media tour since last Saturday, was flat compared to last week but, still managed to take second place in the demo behind The Bachelor in head-to-head competition at 9 p.m.
NBC was fourth (1.5, 6.1 million) and tied its lowest-rated in-season Monday ever with all originals. Chuck (1.7, 5.3 million) was flat week-to-week to tie its series low, while The Cape (1.1, 4.0 million) was down 6% for a series low. At 10 p.m., Harry’s Law (1.8, 9.1 million) was up 6% to come in at NBC’s highest-rated show of the night.
