The wait for the Agents of SHIELD season-three premiere just got a little bit shorter.
While the premiere doesn’t air until Tuesday, ABC has released the cold open of the episode early. The five-minute video reveals that many things have changed in the months that passed after the season-two finale of ABC’s Marvel series, when SHIELD battled with Jiaying (Dichen Lachman) and her army of Inhumans. Skye (Chloe Bennet) now is calling herself by her birth name, Daisy Johnson, and she’s heading up a team within SHIELD to locate and protect new Inhumans who accidentally transformed after taking a fish-oil pill that was contaminated with Terrigen crystals. But they soon find out that they’re not the only ones looking for these newly powered people.
The episode opens on Joey (Juan Pablo Raba), a new Inhuman struggling to understand what’s happening to him and harness his new ability to melt metal by touching it. A team of soldiers corner him in the streets, but before they can use “lethal force” to take him out, Daisy arrives with Mack (Henry Simmons) and Hunter (Nick Blood) to save him, showing off some crazy-cool new tech in the process.
The cold open also gives viewers the first look at Constance Zimmer‘s mysterious new government figure, Rosalind Price. Not much is known about her character yet, aside from the fact that she’s the head of the Alien Threat Containment Unit and will go “toe-to-toe with Coulson (Clark Gregg).” Seeing as how they are both using their teams to hunt down Inhumans, albeit with extremely different results, it’s not hard to guess why.
Press play on the video above to check out the full cold open now.
The Agents of SHIELD season-three premiere airs Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 9 p.m. on ABC.
